Horcate

Las dos anillas que cuelgan se utilizaban para meter las correas de sujeción. Este arreo de labranza tiene forma de herradura y se usaba para una sola bestia. Si era para arar, esas correas se enganchaban a la “zanga” y si era para llevar un “volquete” se enganchaban a las “varas”. En el horcate va el tiro del arado o del volquete.

Outil en bois ou en fer, que l’on plaçait sur l’âne, le mulet, etc., devant le « anterrollo ». Les deux anneaux qui pendent servaient à passer les sangles de fixation. Ce harnais de labour a la forme d’un fer à cheval et s’utilisait pour un seul animal. Si c'était pour labourer, ces sangles s'accrochaient à la « zanga » et si c'était pour tirer une « benne », elles s'accrochaient aux « varas ». C'est sur l'horcate que repose la traction de la charrue.

A wooden or iron implement, which was fitted to a donkey, mule, etc., in front of the ‘anterrollo’. The two hanging rings were used to thread the fastening straps through. This farming harness is horseshoe-shaped and was used for a single animal. If it was for ploughing, these straps were attached to the ‘zanga’ (plough beam), and if it was for pulling a ‘volquete’ (cart), they were attached to the ‘varas’ (drawbars). The plough’s drawbar is attached to the yoke.
